{Mouse Tape Measure Cozy}

Apart from all the necessary tools required for crocheting like hooks, yar, needles, scissors, I think a tape measure comes quite handy for measuring sizes lengths etc. So I thought of making a cozy for it, to make it a bit more appealing! I decided to make a cute little mouse but you could almost make any animal face!
P.S. The face can also be used as an applique! Cool huh?

MATERIALS
  • yarn in grey and pink
  • 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • embroidery thread for face
  • Stitch marker (optional)
MOUSE PATTERN:
Make 2.
With grey,
R1: Ch 2 then make 6 sc in second ch from hook (6)
R2: 2 sc in each st around (12)
R3: 1 sc , 2 sc in next st, repeat 6 times (18)
R4: 2 sc, 2 sc in next st, repeat 6 times (24)
R5: 3 sc, 2 sc in next st, repeat 6 times (30)
R6: sc in each st around (30)
Finish off and fasten off.

On one of the two embroider a mouse face!
EARS:
Make 2.
With pink,
R1: Ch 2 then make 6 sc in second ch from hook (6)
Change to grey yarn,
R2: 2 sc in each st around (12)
R3: inc, 2sc in next 2 st, 2hdc in next st, 1 hdc and 1 dc in next st, 2dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc and  1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, 2 sc in next 2 st, inc.
Finish off and fasten off.
Sew the ears on top of the head. You could also sew them on the back but I liked it most on the front part.

ASSEMBLY:
Take your mouse face and  attach with the back side of the face by whipstitching the two pieces together. Do NOT sew closed. Place your tape measure inside and position it. Continue sewing the two pieces together leaving a small opening for the tape edge so that you can pull it when needed!
Note: The above pattern can be modified so to fit your tape measure size!
