The Mini Skein Shawl, brings the fun without being complicated. When designing this shawl, I wanted to combine my love for simplicity with a fun yarn to bring the vision to life. A good beginner knitting shawl should be a canvas for the yarn and creativity you bring to it. The Mini Skein Shawl does just that, combining the basic garter stitch with some fun and interesting yarn.

Knit from side to side, in garter stitch, it grows into an asymmetrical triangle that drapes perfectly when wrapped around your neck and shoulders. You’ll be done before you know it, and itching to make another.

You’ll finish your first one just in time for your weekend plans.

For the shawl, I used sock weight yarn in mini skeins. Mini Ares from Treliz is a glorious blend of superwash merino, and nylon, making the Mini Skein Shawl a pleasure to knit as well as wear.

With such a classic shawl, you can’t go wrong when choosing colors. The Mini Skein Shawl would work well with any yarn. Stash bust full skeins and scraps or hunt for sock weight minis from indie dyers and local yarn stores. The color combinations are endless!
