Knit Everyday Playdate Sweater Pattern
Made with fingering weight yarn it combines basic knitting stitches and shaping to become a comfy and casual everyday sweater for every child!
The Everyday Playdate Sweater is actually the first kid garment I designed and although it contains some shaping I would say the pattern is easy to follow and the result is really cute! I designed the pattern having babies and toddlers in mind so it comes in 5 different sizes starting from 0-6 months up to 4-5 years!
The sweater is worked bottom up on straight needles. Frst the back and front pieces are knitted and then the sleeves are knitted. Last a neck ribbing is knitted using circular needles. Easy right? And it only uses from 150, to 250 g of fingering weight yarn depending on your size!
I used 3mm (U.S. size 3) straight needles for the sweater and a speckled fingering weight yarn Uru is the brand, but it can be made in any fingering weight yarn you like, my testers used from Sewrella’s Handmade Home Fibers to Patons!
I have to give a lot of credit to my pattern testers who worked on the Everyday Playdate Sweater pattern. They were gracious enough to spare their time, talent, yarn stash and they did a fantastic job. Please visit their Instagram accounts and show them some love on their amazing finished sweaters!
