TWEED MOCK RIB SCARF IN KARTOPU MERINO
Hello friends!
It's actually bee quite a while since I last wrote a blog post, but now I am back with a free scarf pattern, ideal for the colder days!
The tweed mock rib scarf captures the all natural beauty of merino wool in its finest! A simple slip stitch repeating pattern creates a lovely texture, while the gorgeous
Kartopu Merino wool from Hobium International adds all the snuggliness and warmth!
If you haven't tried Merino wool yet, there is nothing quite like it. You will immediately be amazed by the fine and soft texture!
Kartopu Merino is really fun and lovely to work with! It is from 100% natural merino wool and has a really soft touch! It can be knitted using 5-6 mm knitting needles and it comes in many lovely colors (this
purple shade is one of my fovorites)!
Materials:
-Kartopu Merino wool : 2 skeins 100% Merino wool. I used light blue (Turquoise)
- 6 mm (US K 10) knitting needles
Gauge:
- 9 pattern repeats= 4 inches (10 cm) in stitch pattern
Size:
8 inches (20cm) wide x 65 inches (1.65 cm) long
Notes:
Keep in mind that this stitch pattern tends to curl inwards so make sure you knit a selvedge and block your scarf. To create extra sturdiness you could also crochet 1 round of single crochet around entire scarf.
Slip
Slip all stitches purlwise unless otherwise indicated.
Selvedge
To maintain a nice edge, you can add +1 edge stitch on each side.
On the RS: sl the first stitch knitwise; knit the last stitch
On the WS: sl the first stitch purlwise; purl the last stitch
Pattern:
CO 36
Row 1: *wyib sl 1, k1, yo, psso both the k1 and the yo
Row 2: purl
Repeat these two rows for the pattern until piece measures 65 inches (1.65 cm) long.
Bind off.
