{WIP Crochet Baby Cardigan}

My new WIP is a baby cardigan! This kind of project is totally news to me!:) It's basically the first time I'm attempting to crochet a piece of clothing and more specifically a baby cardi for my newborn nephew!:)

I found the pattern on a new Greek crochet magazine. The stitch used is a very interesting one and the first time I'm using such a stitch! I'm referring to the double crochet V stitch! The pattern uses a 3.5 mm (E) hook and DK baby yarn; I'm using Rico Design Baby Classic DK in turquoise!

So far I have crocheted the back and I'm almost finishing up the front pieces! If everything goes as planned the following weekend it will be finished and ready to wear!:) I'm so excited!

What projects are you currently working on? Have you ever crocheted the double crochet V stitch?

  1. Love the colour.... and that stitch! I have never used it before either! Looks like it creates a great texture. :) ~Steph

  4. It looks lovely can't wait to see the finished item - I've never made a garment I must be brave and have a try x

  5. Beautiful colour, I'm sure your nephew will look great in Aunty Tania's baby cardigan. I love to crochet baby clothes and I have been making an assortment of baby clothes since March this year ready for my first grandchild. This weekend I finished an all-in-one crochet cabled sleeping bag. I'm not sure what my next project will be yet, I am having a ponder lol
