Working on something new!

Last week, we took a small vacation and visited Vienna! I love this city! We had the best time visiting the sunny city with it's baroque style! When we flew back home I kept looking at the photos of the trip! I loved everything, the great coffee, the chocolate shops all around Vienna, the delicious food, and the local market with it's bright stalls and colors! These are just a few photos I took but I think they capture the whole spirit!:)

Crochet related, I am spending my time browsing through magazines and books for spring inspiration! Winter is slowly fading away and sunny days keep making their appearance! I really love using my new wool winder! It's so fun to use and my yarn seems organized! It is also pretty neat to store!:)

The last picture is from my new project! It uses a very interesting stitch that I have fallen in love with! I will be sharing more on that very soon!

I hope you had a great week too! What are you up to?

Crochet Mood Blanket Progress

I love my blanket!

Seriously, when you give a yarn obsessed girl pretty colors and a hook things get really exciting!:) I have been working on my blanket for almost a month now and finally it has started to transform from simple rows to a blanketish piece! Ok it's not that big yet, but I can cover my knees with it! Haha!

I am enjoying my blanket making! Since it is the first time I am attempting such a big project, at the beginning I was really nervous of how it will turn out, how many squares I'd have to make, about the size and so on! Now I am simply crocheting away! Most afternoons I grab my cup of coffee and make a few squares especially when I have busy days ahead! I have also started to think about the border I am going to add! I was thinking of adding something scalloped or the double V stitch one! Any ideas / recommendations on that?

How are your projects coming along?
Wishing you a happy Valentine's Day!
P.S. I am so happy that you liked Elena's hot water bottle sweater!:)

Crochet Hot Water Bottle Cover by Kerasopites

Everything looks better in a sweater! Even hot water bottles look cute wearing a crochet cozy! The lovely and talented Elena from Kerasopites is sharing her cozy tutorial today. Enjoy the project!

Hello everyone, I’m Elena from Kerasopites and I’m very excited to be a guest blogger at Little Things Blogged. So, today I have a small project for you or anyone you want to keep warm and cozy. Tanya asked me if I could make something for Valentine’s Day and the first thing that crossed my mind was a hot water bottle cover because it’s something me and my hubby use (and fight over) on our movie nights!

So here’s the pattern for a standard sized hot water bottle. I used the half double crochet stitch (hdc) and a 4.5mm hook.

Ch 22 (counts as 20 ch + 1 hdc)

Round 1: Make 4 hdc in 4th chain from hook, hdc in the next 18 sts, make 5 hdc in the next st. Do not turn, continue at the other side of the chain. Hdc in the next 18 sts. Join with a sl st in top of chain 2. (46)
Round 2: ch 2 (counts as hdc) , make 2 hdc in same st, hdc in next 22 sts, make 3 hdc in next st, hdc in the next 22 sts. Join with a sl st in top of chain 2. (50)
Round 3: ch 2, make 2 hdc in same st, hdc in next 24 sts, make 3 hdc in next st, hdc in the next 24 sts. Join with a sl st in top of chain 2. (54)
Round 4: ch 2. Hdc in every st around. Sl st in top of chain 2 (54)
Round 5 – 29: Repeat round 4 (54)
Round 30: Ch 2, hdc in the next 24 sts, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 25 sts, hdc2tog. Sl st in top of chain 2. (52)
Round 31: Ch 2, hdc in the next 23 sts, hdc2tog, hdc in the next 24 sts, hdc2tog. Sl st in top of chain 2. (50)
Round 32: Ch 2, hdc in the next 7 sts, hdc2tog, *hdc in the next 8 sts, hdc2tog* repeat * 3 more times. Sl st in top of chain 2. (45)
Round 34: Ch 2, hdc in the next 2 sts, hdc2tog, *hdc in the next 3 sts, hdc2tog* repeat * 7 more times. Sl st in top of chain 2. (36)
Round 35: Ch 2, hdc in the next 3 sts, hdc2tog, *hdc in the next 4 sts, hdc2tog* repeat * 4 more times. Sl st in top of chain 2. (30)
Round 36: Finish with a single crochet in every st around. Bind off.

For the heart there are many beautiful things you can make. I used this pattern but feel free to add anything you like, buttons flowers etc.
Thank you Tanya for having me here! All of you are welcome to visit my blog any time!

Thanks so much for sharing this adorable little project Elena! I can't wait to make one myself!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
