During the Christmas holidays I crocheted myself this lovely and easy cowl by Stephanie of All About Ami!
The cowl is worked pretty fast using a large hook and bulky yarn! I really love the stitch Stephanie used, the shell stitch! It creates great texture and adds a touch of style to something that can be worn daily during cold weather!
I used a 10mm (N/15) crochet hook and an acrylic and wool blend yarn (75% wool and 25% acrylic). I used 2 strands of yarn together to make my cowl which made it super soft and cozy! I didn't follow the exact number of rows Stephanie indicated in her pattern but instead I made mine a bit shorter (8 rows)! Basically the pattern can be tailored to suit your preferences as it is super adjustable!
I pretty much enjoy wearing my cowl as it keeps me extra cozy!:) Have you made any cowls / scarfs this year?
Beautiful! This is an unbelievable coincidence, I also crocheted for myself a shell stitch cowl this Christmas, only it's duck egg blue and it goes twice around the neck. Yours is a beautiful variation. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I love the color you used! Would love to see it! Wishing you a happy New Year Elena!
DeleteLovely cowl, I have made some scarves this year, in a variety of colours, using that frilly type of yarn.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours!

Love that stitch. I made several cowls and scarves for Christmas gifts, and received one too! It was great to share them with my loved ones :)
