13+1 Best LTB Crochet & Amigurumi Patterns of 2013

This was a fantastic crochet year! I've crocheted quite a lot through 2013. I designed and created crochet and amigurumi patterns and enjoyed the process and work so much. I could say it was a full crochet year! Crochet is my passion and what is great is the constant learning process! There are so many new stitches and techniques to get acquainted with! Sometimes mistakes happen, when figuring out how to best complete a stitch or when writing up a pattern! But that's not a bad thing, it makes me stronger and even more passionate especially when at the end of the day thing work out and I get to admire my finished project!

This is a compilation of  the 14 best projects I made during 2013. I have had so much fun designing and creating each one of them! Plus many more crochet ideas and patterns are simmering in my brain and I am hoping to share some of them in the next year with you!

I would also like to thank you for all your support, lovely messages and emails. I believe that 2014 will be even more exciting with much more pattens and many hours of lovely relaxing crochet.:)

So, here are the 13+1 best crochet and amigurumi projects of Little Things Blogged in 2013! Enjoy!:)

Crochet Shell Stitch Cowl

During the Christmas holidays I crocheted myself this lovely and easy cowl by Stephanie of All About Ami!
The cowl is worked pretty fast using a large hook and bulky yarn! I really love the stitch Stephanie used, the shell stitch! It creates great texture and adds a touch of style to something that can be worn daily during cold weather!

I used a 10mm (N/15) crochet hook and an acrylic and wool blend yarn (75% wool and 25% acrylic). I used 2 strands of yarn together to make my cowl which made it super soft and cozy! I didn't follow the exact number of rows Stephanie indicated in her pattern but instead I made mine a bit shorter (8 rows)! Basically the pattern can be tailored to suit your preferences as it is super adjustable!

I pretty much enjoy wearing my cowl as it keeps me extra cozy!:) Have you made any cowls / scarfs this year?

Happy weekend to all! What have you been up to lately?

Amigurumi Oscar the Penguin

Oscar is a cute little penguin that loves fishing! He loves wearing his blue & green pom pom ( ultra modern right now) cap accompanied by his cozy matching shawl and take long walks in the snow until he reaches that perfect opening in the snow so as to throw in his fishing pole! He knows that fishing is not an easy task! It needs a lot of patience and luck! Oh! Look there it is! He caught one! Lucky Oscar!
If you want to make Oscar yourselves you can purchase the pattern from my Ravelry, Etsy, and Craftsy shops!

The pattern features photos, written instructions, and also a chart for helping you to make his head! It’s a PDF pattern and it will be mailed to you after you check out. It really couldn’t be any easier :)
I can’t wait to see all your cute penguins! Happy crocheting!

Amigurumi Santa & Snowman Ornaments for She Knows

Santa Claus: Don't cry, Karen, Frosty's not gone for good. You see, he was made out of Christmas snow and Christmas snow can never disappear completely. It sometimes goes away for almost a year at a time and takes the form of spring and summer rain. But you can bet your boots that when a good, jolly December wind kisses it, it will turn into Christmas snow all over again. - from Frosty the Snowman

My latest projects for She Knows definitely have a Christmas theme! An amigurumi Santa Claus and snowman! These crochet ornaments are easy to make (approx. one afternoon) and would make a great addition to your Christmas tree or even your home decoration! Mine are hung on the tree; I will post some photos of my Christmas decorations soon!
This project would also make a cute last minute handmade gift or you could embellish your Christmas presents with them, along with a nice tag; I loved this gingerbread tag idea!

This year a actually made a lot of crochet ornaments, something a liked a lot! Have you made any handmade ornaments or decorations this year?
