Crochet Baby Cardigan

Remember the baby cardigan I was making for my baby nephew? Some difficulties occurred with the previous pattern, so I decided to start over and make another version of the cardigan!

So, here it is! This baby cardigan was made with Rico Baby DK yarn in turquoise and I used white for the edging! I really love the softness of the specific yarn which was a deciding factor me! The size is for a newborn and it was made using a 4.00 mm (G) hook.
What I liked most is the reverse sc stitch used for the edging! I am really happy that I managed to complete as this is the first time I tried making an actual clothing item!:)
I can't wait to make another one! Have you ever crocheted a clothing item?
Happy weekend to all!

  1. This turned out awesome! I tried reverse hdc once and couldn't quite get the hang of it.... I should try with single crochet, it looks great :) Congratulations on finishing your first clothing item! ~Stephanie

  7. Beautiful! I'm having a hard time figuring out the hood from the original pattern. I was wondering if you could shed some light on about how many rows you did for each step in the hood please. thanks! :)

  8. Thanks Amanda! Actually the first five rows should consist of 75 st or the equivalent numbers in brackets.
Then you actually repeat Row 5 until you have 59 sttiches or the equivalent in parenthesis.
Next you will just continue crocheting evenly until your hood measures the specified sizes!
I hope that helps! Good luck!
