Last week I was organising my yarn stash and discovered this lovely raspberry colored yarn! I couldn't remember where and when I bought it, but I was definitely happy I did!:) Quite a few possible projects run through my head but I decided that this yarn was going to become a pair of wrist warmers. I used the puff stitch for the wrist warmer body and fpdc-bpdc for the cuff. I have got relatively small hands but you can easily adjust the cuff size to fit your hand. The wrist warmers measure approx. 9cm (3.5 inches) wide and 18cm (7 inches) long. If you'd like to make your own just folllow the pattern I've written up.
MATERIALS:
- worsted weight yarn in any colors you like
- 4mm (G) & 3.5mm (E)crochet hook
- Yarn needle
PATTERN:
CuffWith 3.5mm hook ch 28 and join with a sl st to make a ring (try not to twist chain)
R1: ch3 (counts as first dc) and dc in each st around (28)
R2: ch 3 (counts as first dc)* fpdc in next st, bpdc in next* repeat around (28)
R3-R7: repeat R2 (28)
Body
With 4 mm hook and raspberry yarn
R1: Join yarnto the first 3ch st and do a puff stitch in the same stitch. *sk 1 st, puff st in next st, sk 1 st* repeat around (14)
R2: Join new color (grey)to the first 3ch st and do a puff stitch in the same stitch. *sk 1 st, puff st in next st, sk 1 st* repeat around (14)
R2- R8: repeat R1&2 alternating colors each row (14)
R9: Now you are going to make your thumb hole, join color A, puff st in same st, 4 ch, sk 1 st, puff stitch in next st, complete round as R1
R10-12:Repeat R1
R13: sctbl only and fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
I really enjoyed making these wrist warmers! After all summer is coming to it's end, so we'd better start working on some fall projects right? I hope you give this project a try! Have you made anything for fall yet?

Thanks Carol!
Deleteoh mah gosh..... LOVE this... thank you so much for posting it...
ReplyDeleteDo you join each round with a slip stitch? I love the pattern.
ReplyDeleteYes!!! Thanks!:)
DeleteSuper cute. My niece would love these!
ReplyDeleteI am making these right now! Love them! Just one question.... Which puff stitch did you use? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I had 7 loops on my hook and then pulled it through!
DeleteHappy crocheting!:)
ΠΑΝΕΜΟΡΦΑ!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern. Just finished a pair for myself, now I'm going to make some for my sisters for Christmas. So quick and super easy. Thanks!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI adore your pattern. I am though stuck on round 2 of the body. Can you explain more about the chain 3. Should there be a chain 3 at the end of each round?
ReplyDeleteThe ch3 is made at the beg of each round at stands for the first dc, meaning you count it as a stitch! O ther than that you continue alternating between fpdc and bpdc as in R2!
DeleteHope that helps!:)
I meant the second part of the pattern when you are doing the puffs. Do you do a chain 3 at the beginning of each round and crochet the puff in that stitch? Thank you
DeleteYes, that's exactly what you do!
DeleteThank you for your response and the pattern. The gloves are looking good already.
DeleteLove love LOVING this! Working on it now! Super easy to follow and even learned a new stitch(puff stitch) cant wait to get them done for a friend! Good snowy day to sit and learn a new pattern!
ReplyDeleteFirst one finished in red and black and I just love it! Only thing I changed was upon starting the next row! Ive always chained one, then the puff stitch in same stitch! Thats the way my mom and grammie taught me and for me it gives it a more seamless look!
DeleteSo pleased with the end result! Thanks for this great, easy to remember pattern!
DeleteHi Jill!! So happy you liked the pattern! I would be happy to see your version of the puff wristlets! You can link your project on my ravelry page or on facebook!!
DeleteHappy Sunday!!
Whats the link to facebook? I already uploads a picture there and I can tag your page in it for credit on the pattern! First pair I did over sized for a friend of mine who is a bit heavier, next pair my sister wants so I am doing it with the smaller hook! Would love to link the projects to you on facebook!
DeleteWhat brand yarn did you use?
ReplyDeleteQuestion, on the thumb part you say to repeat the R1 ... surely you don't mean that we are to do a chain for in each round. Little confused on the thumb part. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNo, you do not do a ch. Just follow the instructions for the puff stitch section as in R1.
DeleteHope this helps!
