{Puff Stitch Wrist Warmers}

 Last week I was organising my yarn stash and discovered this lovely raspberry colored yarn! I couldn't remember where and when I bought it, but I was definitely happy I did!:) Quite a few possible projects run through my head but I decided that this yarn was going to become a pair of wrist warmers. I used the puff stitch for the wrist warmer body and fpdc-bpdc for the cuff.  I have got relatively small hands but you can easily adjust the cuff size to fit your hand. The wrist warmers measure approx. 9cm (3.5 inches) wide and 18cm (7 inches) long. If you'd like to make your own just folllow the pattern I've written up.

  • worsted weight yarn in any colors you like
  • 4mm (G) & 3.5mm (E)crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
With 3.5mm hook ch 28 and join with a sl st to make a ring (try not to twist chain)
R1: ch3 (counts as first dc) and dc in each st around (28)
R2: ch 3 (counts as first dc)* fpdc in next st, bpdc in next* repeat around (28)
R3-R7: repeat R2 (28)

With 4 mm hook and raspberry yarn
R1: Join yarnto the first 3ch st and do a puff stitch in the same stitch. *sk 1 st, puff st in next st, sk 1 st* repeat around (14)
R2: Join new color (grey)to the first 3ch st and do a puff stitch in the same stitch. *sk 1 st, puff st in next st, sk 1 st* repeat around (14)
R2- R8: repeat R1&2 alternating colors each row (14)
R9: Now you are going to make your thumb hole, join color A, puff st in same st, 4 ch, sk 1 st, puff stitch in next st, complete round as R1
R10-12:Repeat R1
R13: sctbl only and fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
I really enjoyed making these wrist warmers! After all summer is coming to it's end, so we'd better start working on some fall projects right? I hope you give this project a try! Have you made anything for fall yet?

{A Crochet Vacation}

It's been a while since I last posted about my doings! August is generally a holiday month; that's why I have been away! Crocheting though never stops even when relaxing or taking a summer vacation!
The above pictures are from a project I started working on that uses some very special stitches! I hope I will be able to finish it soon!:)
I also made some of my Kokeshi Dolls for something very special that I will announce soon! While making some girls the idea of making a Kokeshi Ninja popped into my head and I started crocheting away! He is in black, wears his ninja star and loves hanging out with the girls!:)
Of course some happy and bright flowery pictures are always necessary as well as a cold cappuccino called (Freddo Cappuccino here in Greece) with some lovely mini muffins and biscuits!:)
What have you been up to? Do you crochet on your vacation?
Happy Weekend to all!
