MATERIALS:
- Small amounts of yarn in various colors
- 3mm crochet hook
- Pom poms for decoration
- Yarn needle
- Fiberfill
- Stitch marker (optional)
THE PATTERN
*To change colors, crochet to the last stitch on the row. Start the last stitch by inserting the hook into the chain from the previous row and pulling a loop through.
Now, with the new color, finish the single crochet by bringing a loop through the 2 stitches on the hook.
The cake is crocheted in five pieces and then sewed together.

ReplyDeleteJust perfect I can't wait to have a go x
ReplyDeleteI have an idea for you so that the sides of cake do not have any bulges in them. If you cut a piece of cardstock the shape of the cake and insert it inside it will make the cake look flatter and more like a bakery cake. I did this on the wedding cake that I made and it looked so much smoother. I love the colors in this cake pattern. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteI think I will give a slice to my girlfriend for her birthday! She will just eat it up. lol!
