{Crochet Kawaii Bear Phone Cosy}

While surfing the net  I came accross Berrysprite's blog! She has nice tips regarding Amigurumis and very cute tutorials!!! As I was reading her blog I came across this post! Unfortunately there was no pattern available for the kawaii cosy, so I decided to make my own!!

But first things first....What is Kawaii? It means, "lovable", "cute", or "adorable"and  is the quality of cuteness in the context of Japanese culture.
To get an idea check out Super Cute Kawaii. It has like tons of categories and things to make!!!

Anyway back to the phone cosy!!

MATERIALS
  • worsted yarn  (any color you like)
  • 4.5mm or 7 US
  • Felt white for muzzle and brown/black for eyes
  • Yarn needle
  • Button
  • Glue gun (optional)
THE PATTERN
Phone Case
Crochet 22 chain stitches and slip stitch into first chain to form a circle.
From now you continue in the round and single crochet in each stitch.
I crocheted up to round 21 and Reaching the middle point of round 22 I crocheted 10 chain stitches to form the handle (this may vary according to your phone measurements) continue until you reach theend of the round and finish with a slip stitch. Bind off, sew in ends and sew the bottom part of the case.

My case measures 5.5 cm in length and 10.5 cm in height (22 rounds). If your phone is larger than that simply increase the starting chain stitch and the number of rows.

Ears
R1: Ch 2,sc in second ch from hook. (6)
R2 2 sc in next sc, rep 6 times. (12)
R3: sc1, 2 sc in next sc, rep 6 times. (18)
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing to head.

Muzzle
Cut a round shape of the white felt and using the yarn needle stich on the nose, using your yarn and stitch it on your phone cosy. It should be in the middle of the ears.
Cut 2 round pieces for the eyes using black/brown felt and either stitch them or glue them on your cosy.

To finish off attach your button on the back of the cosy and that's it!
